This course is aimed at users with minimal computer experience.  It is designed to extend your knowledge and understanding of how to use a computer.  The skills covered include the basics of the various software programs, start applications, creating folders, copying and moving files and personalising Windows.  Learners will need to have a computer at home so as to practice their skills.

Microsoft Office Suite Programs

Microsoft Office 2013 is the suite of software which most computer users will have access to. These courses are for users with some computer experience to learn how to use individual software programs for business or personal use at both a beginners and a more advanced level.

Learners can enrol in any one of the following programs: 

Microsoft Word (Level 1 & Level 2) 
Microsoft Excel (Level 1 & Level 2) 
Microsoft Outlook (Level 1 & Level 2) 
Microsoft PowerPoint (Level 1 & Level 2) 
Microsoft Publisher (Level 1 &Level 2) 
Microsoft SharePoint (Level 1 & Level 2) 

This program is self-paced and runs for eight weeks. Learners can enrol and commence at any time throughout the term.

Microsoft Excel 2013 for Business

This suite of one day workshops are aimed at small businesses and upskilling employees. Each covers a different depth of skill, with a focus on more and more complex tasks.

Introduction to Excel - Creating and using spreadsheets, navigating, working with formulas and functions, formatting techniques creating charts and altering the layout.
 
Intermediate Excel - Advanced techniques in formatting, page set up, ranges, complex formulas, financial functions, conditional formatting and an introduction to Pivot tables.
 
Advanced Excel - Advanced Pivot table techniques, macros, protecting data, importing data, data linking, data consolidation, Scenario Manager, and data validation techniques.

If the nominated course dates do not suit, we are able to negotiate other dates and times with a minimum of four participants.

Office Skills for Employment

This course is perfect for employees who are returning to work after a workplace injury.

If you would like to work in an office, but have no experience, then this course is for you! 

Over nine weeks you will complete ten units which will cover the specialist skills required to be successful, working in an office environment. Following completion of this course you will have improved your typing skills, learnt how to format formal text documents, use a spreadsheet, developed customer service skills, use a variety of business technology and be able to work cohesively within a team. Each learner will receive a comprehensive certificate to complement your resume.

Following completion, volunteer positions at the Centre may be available to boost your CV.
