ABOUT THE ROLE
Part time (15 hrs/week) bookkeeping role. Pay rates in accordance with the Neighbourhood Houses and Adult Community Education Centres Collective Agreement 2010 – 3A – Level 6. $36.88 – $39.05 per hour depending on experience.
We are looking for a dynamic person who can work within a small team environment, and who will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and accurate bookkeeping function for our organisation. The responsibilities will be broad, covering all facets of bookkeeping.
We are seeking an experienced person who is a wiz on Xero and Excel.
The role will include, but may not be limited to the following responsibilities.
- Accounts receivable and payable processing
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Petty cash reconciliation, monitor salary packaging and deductible gift receipts
- Preparation of GST, PAYG, PLSL and superannuation returns
- Depreciation of assets and asset register maintenance
- Guide staff on the correct application of accounting practices and use of Xero
- Contribute to the improvement and documentation of the bookkeeping function
- Completion of month end and monthly reporting
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budgets and interim forecasts
- Assist the treasurer and CEO during the annual audit process
- General support for the CEO
- Other duties that may come up from time to time to ensure the smooth operation of LLP
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Key to your success in this role will be your excellent attention to detail and your ability to use your initiative, as well as;
- Experience in a similar role for a minimum of 3 years
- Willing to take ownership, work autonomously and be held accountable
- Ability to work within a fast paced, positive culture, in a strong team environment
- High attention to detail and competent ability to multi-task
- Confident and fluent in English
- Proficiency and experience in the use of Xero
- Highly developed skills in MS Office applications
- Experience working within a Neighbourhood House or within the Adult Community Education sector
