About the role
- English as an Additional Language (EAL) Tutor
- 15 hours per week. 9.30am – 3:00pm, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Permanent part time
- Remuneration based on Education Services (Post-secondary) Award, 2020 (Level 7)
We are looking for a qualified and experienced EAL tutor who can deliver in our Living & Working in Australia – Levels P & 1 course, which runs on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays during Victorian school terms. The EAL tutor is responsible for all aspects of course delivery, including pre and post participant assessment, face-to-face teaching, session planning and evaluation, course moderation and development, and general administration.
The position is part of a small and friendly teaching pool, which is overseen by a supportive and encouraging management team.
The courses are delivered at Living & Learning Pakenham’s Learn Local Centre at 6b Henry Street, Pakenham.
The ideal candidate
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria*:
- Bachelors degree in LOTE or TESOL qualifications
- Cert IV Training and Assessment
- Teaching experience, especially with students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of the EAL Framework, guidelines and standards
- High level verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Experience conducting pre and post training assessments
