About the role

  • English as an Additional Language (EAL) Tutor
  • 15 hours per week. 9.30am – 3:00pm, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • Permanent part time
  • Remuneration based on Education Services (Post-secondary) Award, 2020 (Level 7)

We are looking for a qualified and experienced EAL tutor who can deliver in our Living & Working in Australia – Levels P & 1 course, which runs on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays during Victorian school terms. The EAL tutor is responsible for all aspects of course delivery, including pre and post participant assessment, face-to-face teaching, session planning and evaluation, course moderation and development, and general administration.

The position is part of a small and friendly teaching pool, which is overseen by a supportive and encouraging management team.

The courses are delivered at Living & Learning Pakenham’s Learn Local Centre at 6b Henry Street, Pakenham.

The ideal candidate

We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria*:

  1. Bachelors degree in LOTE or TESOL qualifications
  2. Cert IV Training and Assessment
  3. Teaching experience, especially with students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  4. Knowledge of the EAL Framework, guidelines and standards
  5. High level verbal and written communication skills
  6. Strong organisational and planning skills
  7. Experience conducting pre and post training assessments
