African Community Homework Club

About Homework Club

Living & Learning Pakenham African Community Homework Club is a safe, flexible and fun place where students will find the support they need to reach their potential as students and productive community members.

Homework Club works in collaboration with local feeder schools to provide students with personalised homework support, literacy and numeracy instruction, and assistance to develop their communication toolkit.

Ultimately Homework Club will help in producing productive and engaged community members. A key element of student success is the involvement and engagement of families and caregivers, and Homework Club incorporates opportunities for families and caregivers to participate in targeted activities, events and workshops.

Presentation Event 2023

Each year we celebrate the achievements of our Homework Club students at a community presentation event.

Throughout the year students participate in a range of activities including literacy and numeracy, art and craft, and music and sport. The presentation event is an opportunity to gather with friends, family and the broader community to recognise students for their efforts toward achieving their academic and social development goals.

For the past couple of years the Melbourne Youth Chorale has been giving music lessons to Homework Club students, and the presentation event is a chance for the students to show off their talents in front of an audience.

So please join us for a fun filled afternoon of music, food, special presentations and musical performances.
