- Permanent, part time
- 8 hours per week plus leave cover
- Wednesdays and Fridays, flexible hours between 9am – 3pm
- Pay rates in accordance with the Neighbourhood Houses and Adult Community Education Centres Collective Agreement 2010, Cleaning Services Award Pay Tables MA000022. ($24.97 – $27.17 per hour)
About the role
The day cleaner is responsible for carrying out the below cleaning duties and providing a smooth handover to the evening cleaner so that the centre remains in immaculate operating condition at all times.
The role requires a person who is passionate about providing a clean and hygienic environment and someone who shows impeccable attention to detail.
Cleaning duties will include:
- Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping
- Emptying rubbish bins
- Servicing toilets
- Cleaning windows
- Mixing and disposal of cleaning solutions
- General kitchen tidying
- Performing close-down procedure (closing windows, locking doors, switching off lights, and so on)
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Self motivated to do an excellent cleaning job and the ability to identify and complete tasks without direct supervision
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team
- Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery, consistent with relevant OH&S requirements
- Ability to walk, bend, push, pull and lift repetitively during work shift
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage and disposal methods
